6 Month Wardrobe

This will be the end of the baby wardrobe series for now, while I work on the bigger sizes.

Pattern: Addison, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Vintage, possible linen blend.

Size: 6-month

Paper Pieced Pattern: Back to Nature Quilt Along, Leila Gardunia

Thoughts: Another elastic back romper, I’m clearly a big fan of them! I thought about leaving the sleeves off to simplify construction, but I’m so glad I kept them. They are so cute and really help frame the bodice. I extended the lines of the original mountain pattern to cover the whole bodice piece.

Pattern: Napa, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Pink and White Stripes Cotton Spandex Jersey, Raspberry Creek Fabrics

Size: 6-Month

Thoughts: This pattern is very quick, and the romper is so cute and practical. I really like the balance of drape and structure from the jersey for this outfit. I didn’t add crotch snaps to this one, but I think it will be easier to slip off than re-snaping a bunch of snaps. You can find this in my shop for a limited time.

Pattern: Nottingham, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Upcycled sheet

Smocking plate: Susanna, Children’s Corner

Size: 6-Month

Thoughts: I tried taking the original front romper piece and smocking it. The pleats are further apart than I like them to be. In the future, I would use a different romper pattern designed for smocking or make the Nottingham dress so I could pleat more fabric.

Pattern: Sheridan, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Vintage, possible linen blend

Size: 6-Month

Thoughts: I love the stripes with this pattern. Matching the stripes on the bodice was pretty easy. The back on this elastic as well.

Pattern: Astoria, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Lightweight denim, Cali Fabrics

Embroidery: Senoia, Little Lizard King

Size: 6-Month

Thoughts: I originally designed this set as a boy girl twin set, but I would dress a girl in either romper. The embroidery was really fun to do. It definitely took longer than I thought it would, especially all of the flowers. Available together or separate in my shop for a limited time.

Pattern: Destin, Little Lizard King

Fabric: Vintage, Cotton

Paper Pieced Pattern: Butterfly, Little Lizard King

Size: 6-Month

Thoughts: This was my first-time doing paper piecing. It took a little bit to wrap my head around how it works. Once I figured it out, I have been a big fan of it and have done several other outfits with paper pieced bodices. The romper itself was so easy and fun to put together. I love the single button on the back.

6-month clothes should fit for long enough that I put more time into each piece in this size. Getting to slow down and create something special for each outfit was very fun and fulfilling.
